A city just can’t have enough festivals, so what a joy it is to hear about the upcoming Sloss Music & Arts Festival, set for July 18-19. Sloss Furnaces National Historic Landmark will be set with three stages of music to accommodate more than 30 acts. Nationally-loved bands on the line-up include indie and alternative rock, Americana and folk, hip-hop and electronica. Also in the plans is upscale fare from local, award-winning chefs, along with art and artisanal activities of all varieties. In keeping with the setting, iron pouring demonstrations from the Sloss Metal Arts Program will also be on the schedule. This is no funnel cake festival…For a look at the lineup, go to www.slossfest.com.
