In its continuing series, Birmingham Revealed, Vulcan Park and Museum will present “Determination, Drama, and Daring: The Life of Louise Wooster.” The show will premiere on Vulcan’s stage on April 9. Louise Wooster has become a significant slice of Birmingham’s history. She was a 19th century “madam,” setting up shop in young Birmingham much to the chagrin of the city’s female population. When the cholera epidemic roared into town in 1873, ravaging and nearly destroying the newly formed community, it was Lou Wooster who stepped up to help save the town. The one-woman show by playwright Ellise Mayor will reveal more of Wooster’s colorful life. www.visitvulcan.com
