Negro Southern League Museum This interactive facility tells the story of the Birmingham Black Barons and other baseball greats who played at Birmingham s Rickwood Field, the oldest ballpark in the country. 30. Oak Mountain State Park More outdoor adventure can be found at Ala- bama s largest state park. The 10,000-acre park has a sandy beach area fronting the lake, rental boats and fi shing equipment, an 18-hole golf course, and some of the best mountain biking trails in the Southeast. The Wildlife Center and Treetop Nature Trail give visitors up-close views of hawks and owls that cannot be released into the wild. Overnight accommodations also are available within the park.
