The Birmingham area will host one of four USA Football 7on7 National Championship Series Events from July 13-15 in Hoover, Ala. The competition will feature more than 30 of the country’s top high school programs spanning nine states. Based in Indianapolis, USA Football is the sport’s national governing body and is a member of the U.S. Olympic Committee.

Birmingham United Soccer Association is pleased to host the 2017 Red Diamond Classic, the state’s largest soccer tournament series. The Red Diamond Classic brings in visitors from a 12-13 state radius each spring and generates an estimated 8.1 million to the local Birmingham Metropolitan economy. The tournament brings in the best soccer teams from around the region and country, making it one of the highest rated tournaments in the southeast. The event takes place at 4-5 venues in Birmingham and Shelby County and averages 140-160 boys teams and 160-180 girls teams each year.
