Our organization is named after Lorenzo “Piper Davis, a trailblazer in the Negro Baseball League, who once played for the Birmingham Black Barons. Piper gave his consent to Coach Fred Plump to name our league in his honor in 1992. The Piper Davis Youth Baseball League is a community based non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to providing a positive sporting foundation for at-risk inner-city youth in the Metropolitan area of Birmingham, Alabama.
