Vulcan Park and Museum 1701 Valley View Dr 205-933-1409 visitvulcan.com BIRMINGHAM
Vulcan Park is home to the world s largest cast-iron statue and offers spectacular views of Birmingham. Sculptor Giuseppi Moretti s statue of Vulcan, the Roman god of the forge, was built in 1904 and presented at the World s Fair in St. Louis as a symbol of Birmingham s industrial spirit. Today, Vulcan remains the symbol of Birmingham standing high atop Red Mountain where he greets visitors everyday. Best views of the city, a beautiful setting and location of the city s most unique civic landmark. Philip M.
Sloss Furnaces is a living tribute to Birmingham's great industrial age.
